Separation

Insignificant, powerless, nonexistent
but in my mind a huge wall
separates me from my brother.

I am afraid to step over it
and I think my hand does not reach
the other side.

But it is so small
that my steps do not feel it
and a whispered word passes it
without a slightest trouble.

The tiniest of all tiny spaces
remains unnoticed when crossed,
but when I stare at it,
it is the greatest of great sorrows.
